JOYCE presents limited-edition CNY items

Chinese New Year 2022 at JOYCE is a celebration that fuses tradition and
togetherness with the boutique’s core values of craftsmanship, creativity
and care. From an artisan, made-to-order game to a classic Tray of
Togetherness reimagined with unexpected finesse, discover the
limited-edition Chinese New Year curiosities landing at JOYCE ahead of
the Year of the Tiger.

AN ODE TO MAHJONG

In partnership with design studio Editecture, JOYCE is celebrating the Year of the Tiger with an homage to the classic Chinese game of mahjong. Offering a fashion-forward and sustainable spin, the mahjong set is handcrafted from black walnut wood and upcycled materials from archival collections by Dries Van Noten, Raf Simons, Rick Owens, Thom Browne and Yohji Yamamoto. These exclusive sets are 100% biodegradable. Only twelve mahjong sets have been created, with each piece marked with a limited edition number.

TRAY OF TOGETHERNESS

As part of a second partnership with Editecture, along with iconic Hong Kong confectionery shop Yiu Fung Store, comes the Tray of Togetherness . This reimagined auspicious Tray of Togetherness is inspired by curio boxes of the Qing dynasty. The tray is hand carved from black walnut wood and features engravings of auspicious meanings. These engravings include a Chrysanthemum  for luckiness and longevity, a Gourd for fortune and prosperity, a Persimmonsymbol for wishfulness to ensure new year wishes are met, and a Ganoderma which ushers in good health and peace. Adding an element of sustainability, the lid is made from upcycled tangerine peels, a Chinese New Year delicacy, supplied by Yiu Fung Store. The Tray of Togetherness is produced in the very limited quantity of twelve, with each tray marked with a limited-edition number.  

JOYCE x YIU FUNG STORE GOODIE BAGS

JOYCE has collaborated with iconic local confectionery shop Yiu Fung Store , to feature a selection of traditional Chinese New Year delicacies. Since the 1960’s, Yiu Fung Store has remained authentically traditional in their creations and are a go-to for Hong Kongers all year round for nostalgic snacks. Eight auspicious Chinese New Year treats – tea snacks, pork floss egg rolls, gold dumplings, taro shrimps, lotus sweets, shrimp noodles, black and red melon seeds – will be presented in JOYCE x Yiu Fung Store Chinese New Year goodie bags designed by collaborator and friend of JOYCE – award-winning designer Theseus Chan.

JOYCE RED PACKETS JOYCE

overhauls red packets with bold creativity in celebration of the Year of the Tiger. Designed by Theseus Chan, the collectable and auspicious design pays subtle homage to the hallmarks of mahjong while featuring a futuristic holographic touch.

JIL SANDER YEAR OF THE TIGER CAPSULE

In celebration of the new lunar year, Jil Sander presents a tiger in painterly watercolours, overhauled exclusively for JOYCE in blue. Strong yet quiet, the emblematic design creates an invitation to feel and look calm and strong. Symbolising courage and self-confidence, the Year of the Tiger homage makes its mark upon an array of minimalistic Jil Sander separates, including a coat, a blouson, a sweater, a T-shirt, a shirt, and a foulard.
