Following the smash hit of last year’s “HELLO KITTY · HAPPY 50 @ Harbour City”, Harbour City is joining hands with Sanrio once again this summer to host another spectacular 50th anniversary celebration — this time for their iconic and beloved characters My Melody, Kiki & Lala! From 29 July to 7 September 2025, Harbour City and Sanrio proudly present “My Melody・Kiki & Lala 50th Anniversary Celebration — Summer Matsuri @ Harbour City”, where they will make a special joint appearance to celebrate this special moment. Inspired by traditional Japanese Summer Matsuri (summer festivals), the campaign will feature a series of Japanese themed activities with picture-perfect spots.
My Melody, Kiki & Lala have ranked among the top 10 in the global “Sanrio Character Ranking” for years, and their popularity continues to shine. This 50th anniversary celebration promises to be one of the city’s most talked-about summer events.
Harbour City will transform the Ocean Terminal Forecourt into a vibrant Japanese summer celebration, featuring a towering 7-metre-high festival stage, authentic Japanese game booths, and themed photo spots infused with touches of My Melody, Kiki & Lala. Fans of all ages are welcome to join the outdoor fireworks party for free, to snap some photos, and celebrate with My Melody, Kiki & Lala! You can also purchase game tickets at a charity price to join the on-site game booths and stand a chance to win exclusive Summer Matsuri-themed souvenirs, including irresistibly cute plush toys of the trio dressed in yukata outfits. Meanwhile, at the Ocean Terminal Deck, you can also find the installations that recreate the original worlds of the three characters.
To kick off the celebration, the trio made a surprise appearance at Harbour City, performing an energetic Japanese wotagei, a popular Japanese performance combining rhythmic movement and light sticks, showing off their synchronized moves and full-on cuteness to hype up the Summer Matsuri!
