Alexander McQueen presents the Chinese Valentine’s Day Select Collection

Alexander McQueen announced the launch of the Chinese Valentine’s Day select collection, which was inspired by the nature and continues to interpret and explore the orchid – the most prominent motif in Alexander McQueen’s autumn winter 2023 collection – and juxtaposes both subversion and beauty, interpreting the orchid in myriad innovative and artistic ways. By using orchid silhouette prints, timeless, signature tailoring and silhouettes and Alexander McQueen’s iconic Knuckle hardware, the collection elaborates a romantic story of the Orchid Night in the visual language of fashion.

Historically, the seventh month of the lunar calendar was known as ‘Orchid Month’, and Chinese Valentine’s Day night was known as the ‘Orchid Night’. It’s a night where brightness meets darkness, where dreams and reality intersect, and about living in the moment, which can also lead to the eternal. The new ‘Orchid Night’ themed film and campaign tell of a magical journey that takes place on a midsummer’s night. The orchids, symbolizing love, glide through the dark sky as the form of light, guiding the male and female protagonists to immerse themselves in nature together, and in the dream of ‘Orchid Night’ – bright, colourful, and ever-changing.

The Chinese Valentine’s Day select collection includes items for men: bomber jacket, jumper, cardigan and leggings, all with a black orchid silhouette print, and folded shorts. Bags include the Knuckle Satchel bag and the Grip Mini bag.
