The ISSEY MIYAKE Harbour City store recently reopened with a brand-new look, featuring a design thoughtfully infused with the concept of “a piece of cloth.” Thin sheets of aluminum, placed in each brand’s dedicated section, represent the fluid and dynamic nature of fabric. These sheets not only
serve as a visual embodiment of the design concept but also clearly define the unique identity and philosophy of each brand within the shared store space. Here, customers can not only experience how fabric brings artistic vitality to clothing but also gain a deeper understanding of the brand’s design philosophy through the space’s innovative interpretation.

With “A Piece of Cloth” as its core, a new chapter unfolds, showcasing the art of fabric and the philosophy of design through a diverse brand lineup.

This grand reopening is not only a fresh reinterpretation of the ISSEY MIYAKE main brand but also highlights a variety of brands that reflect deep thought on design, creativity, and the environment. For the first time in the Hong Kong market, IM MEN and 132 5. ISSEY MIYAKE debut, showcasing the innovative design philosophy of the brand.

IM MEN: Designed from the perspective of the male form, it upholds Issey Miyake’s “A Piece
of Cloth” philosophy, continuously exploring the possibilities of design and garment-making
craftsmanship. Combining functionality with aesthetics, it presents a style that balances
simplicity and practicality.

132 5. ISSEY MIYAKE: Continuing the “A Piece of Cloth” philosophy, it breaks away from
conventional concepts of clothing, bringing unique “origami-like” forms to life on the human
body. Through innovative folding techniques and sustainable materials, it achieves a vision of
harmony between fashion and nature.
