Levi’s® and BEAMS Launch Fourth Capsule Collaboration With New Super Wide Fits

09 Jan, 2024

For a fourth time, Levi’s®, the iconic purveyor of timeless American style, and BEAMS, the beloved Japanese clothing company and retailer, have partnered on a special capsule collection. Following in the footsteps of the Super Wide offerings of their previous collaboration, Levi’s® and BEAMS again pay tribute to the Levi’s® heritage, with new bold and widened pieces derived from classic styles and washes. To create the Levi’s® x BEAMS Super Wide V2 collection, they found inspiration in subtle, simple, and elegant garments from 1944.

The Levi’s® x BEAMS Super Wide V2 collection features a Super Wide V2 Type I Trucker, a Super Wide V2 Jean, and a Graphic Tee. Inspired by the 1944 Levi’s® jean jacket and made from heavy 16 oz. custom Orange Tick selvedge denim, the Super Wide V2 Type I Trucker features just four shanks, a custom super wide leather back patch – doubling the width of the iconic Two-Horse Pull patch, and a BEAMS exclusive tab. With subtle wear patterns of custom herringbone in an olive color, the trucker is super wide yet super graceful.

For a head to toe look, the Super Wide V2 Type I Trucker pairs beautifully with the Levi’s® x BEAMS Super Wide V2 Jean, which is inspired by the 1944 501® jean. Also made from Orange Tick selvedge denim developed exclusively for BEAMS, it features the BEAMS exclusive tab and the custom super wide leather back patch. Both the Super Wide V2 Type I Trucker and Jean are offered in a lighter vintage wash. The collection is topped off with the white Graphic Tee. Completely blank on the front, the back of the tee features prints of co-branded graphics and a screen printed ‘stitched’ arcuate.

Featuring an extensive cast of 9 models, the Levi’s® x BEAMS Super Wide V2 campaign evokes images of traditional Japanese landscapes – including bamboo forests – juxtaposed against a studio backdrop. It paints a sprawling panorama, depicting a familiar, yet unfamiliar Japan.
