Talking about autumn, one might immediately think of hues of burgundy red, yellow and brown in a vintage mood, but the runway has surprised us with a more exciting trend: pattern. From geometric, winter ethnic, wild skins to floral blooms, this fall tells a print story that you will never get tired of!

This season, we see a mix of simplicity and modernity with inspirational stripes. Calvin Klein plays with different orientations and colours of stripes, while Stella McCartney features zigzag and stripe motif in hot chili red & white printed onto a jacquard moiré to produce a striking multi-layered print effect. Both patterns create an optical illusion to ensure a slender silhouette which is easy to wear. Chloé reveals a brown diagonal geo print which is perfect to go tonal in a top-to-toe effect.

Polka dots and plaids will still be huge, but with more variations to come. Massimo Dutti pleated dress features a two-tone print in subtle brush strokes to add a touch of artsy elegance, while the FW Collection of VERSUS adapts traditional black and white check print to epitomize the conflict that keeps Versus relevant. Patches of trees reveals a concept of street vs nature, bringing “contrasts” to the new, unexpected level.
