The Opening of LALIQUE shop in Ocean Terminal

LALIQUE and VPANG Architects jointly designed the LALIQUE shop in Ocean Terminal, Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui to highlight the core value of LALIQUE “Sculpture of Light”.

The design of new store is inspired by the house’s remarkable craftsmanship. The doors are decorated with bronze-colored metal with hairline finishing, referring to the color of the tools used by the craftsmen and the unique texture formed by the LALIQUE satin process, thus saluting to LALIQUE’s meticulous craftsmanship. The arc-shaped windows on both sides naturally lead guests into the exhibition gallery in light and shadow.

The walls are covered with white marble, while the ground is adorned with black flooring and bronze-colored lines, strongly reflecting the distinct polishing and satin- finishing techniques of LALIQUE. Meanwhile, a set of irregular metal display shelves stand on both sides of the store. The supporting structure is embedded with multiple crystal panels, thus creating a refreshing aesthesis.  

To echo with the elegant interior design, LALIQUE boutique exhibits a series of furniture and lighting that combines artistry and functionality. The table and <Champs-Élysées> Chandelier designed by Marc Lalique in 1951 and 1957 respectively represent the classical artwork of LALIQUE. Meantime, a series of works jointly finished by well-known interior designers are exhibited, including series jointly created by the British designer Lady Tina Green and the Italian designer Pietro Mingarelli, and chandelier designed by the French designer Pierre-Yves Rochon.
