The British luxury house meets the House of Mouse, with shared values connected through ageless visuals referencing key segments from the avant-garde masterpiece. Aligned with Stella McCartney’s love of nature, among these stories are the evolution of life itself in Rite of Spring and the timeless Disney characters of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice – including Mickey Mouse.

Celebrating innovative creativity, experimentation and music, relevant collector’s items reimagine and distort Disney icons – made from regenerated, repurposed and recycled materials. Provoking thought and conversation, never-before-seen Fantasia prints and new original graphics deliver a forward-facing nostalgia. Youthful athleticism and coastal optimism blend on fluid, lightweight and transparent fabrics, while a natural palette and psychedelic energy feels relevant to the Stella McCartney Summer 2022 runway collection.

Elevated fashion pieces reference Fantasia’s transcendental beauty and iconic characters – including Mickey Mouse hand motifs and rare posters from the 1940s on limited-edition repurposed old-stock silks from LVMH’s Nona Source. This cheeky fantasy continues in knitwear featuring Mickey and broomstick-man graphics riffing on the film’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice segment, alongside blush satyr scenery from The Pastoral Symphony. Reinterpreting the film’s night skies and Summer 2022’s glitter, advanced bodycon knits sparkle with PVC-free sequins.

A coastal cool is felt in organic cotton towelling on fringed kaftans with washed-out centaurette prints, and original warped and remixed Disney graphics on dresses giving the effect of patched-together vintage tees. Organic cotton denim taps vintage aesthetics – including eco bleach effect light blue washes and an apricot galaxy wash on utility shirts, boyfriend jeans and a hoodie jacket, with a new Stella logo and Mickey prints on the back.

Capsule pieces are given an athletic attitude through voluminous organic cotton jersey hoodies and tiny vests with Fantasia prints. A sustainable sportiness is found in recycled nylon cheesecloth jackets, short overalls and trousers, featuring bi-colour pink and orange patches and utilitarian details. Connecting the magic of Fantasia to the next generation, a capsule collection for Stella McCartney Kids will also be released in Autumn 2022.

A black velvet hard-body shoulder bag is shaped like Mickey’s head silhouette, given a Stella edge by a mixed-galvanic Frayme chain detail and an Alter Mat vegan leather strap. Iconic Falabella mini and shoulder bags feature Mickey as rainbow patches and crystal embellishments, while Logo totes highlight a new all-over black Mickey drawing print. Rounding out the vegan accessories offering are black recycled nylon rucksacks and camera bags with contrast white Mickey motifs.

A sense of beachy comfort is felt in black flatform pool slides with logo patches on towelling uppers, while the sustainable Loop sneaker is revisited in an airy pastel pink featuring rainbow Mickey graphics and all-over monochromatic prints. Platform espadrille Gaia gladiator sandals are remixed with a white drawn Mickey print, alongside Elyse platform shoes with Fantasia prints.

A 90s festival aesthetic is seen in organic cotton bucket hats and recycled nylon safari caps, continuing through mushroom-shaped organic cotton crocheted lighter holders referencing Summer 2022’s fungi inspirations. Organic cotton socks feature Fantasia graphics, while vintage posters are blown up on fringed silk scarves. This season’s symbols are also expressed across necklaces, including silver and gold exaggerated Mickey hand pendants.
