INTRODUCING KAI X GUCCI COLLECTION

An extraordinary performer whose originality captures the attention of not only K-pop fans, since KAI was revealed as a member of South Korean band EXO in 2012, he is known for his charismatic performances, mesmerising dancing and expressive personal style.

Inspired by KAI, Gucci’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele has designed the KAI x Gucci Collection, a selection of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear and accessories with a distinctive decorative motif, the teddy bear.

KAI’s favourite animal, with its powerful pop-cultural resonance is the key visual detail of the collection. A whimsical design of a teddy’s head with a blue bow tie takes inspiration from vintage teddy bears, and this playful decoration is mixed with other Gucci House patterns and motifs.

KAI X GUCCI COLLECTION features with dedicated label with a teddy bear wearing a blue bow tie on a white background, surrounded with a black border, identifies the range.

For men there is a wide selection of garments that have been given the KAI teddy bear treatment, from lightweight nylon canvas blousons, eco stone-washed denim jackets, and wool/cotton jacquard patterned crew necks and cardigans, to shirts in cotton, silk twill or woollen check, canvas beige chinos, denim jeans, and zip-up tracksuit tops in technical jersey with matching long basketball shorts and jogging pants. For women there are zip-up nylon hooded and crew-neck outerwear styles, a wool/cotton striped oversized V-neck cardigan and crew-neck, a fine cotton/silk series in ivory and blue including a cardigan jacket and a polo-neck short-sleeved top, crew-neck sweater, an A-line skirt and a minidress, and denim jeans and shorts, as well as a jersey selection characterised by a relaxed, street wear attitude. Cotton sweatshirts and T-shirts for men and women offer an easy way in for those attracted to the KAI x Gucci look.

Small leather goods in the teddy bear-printed GG Supreme canvas with orange leather trim include card cases, wallets, a mini bag, a pouch and a cosmetics case; while Ace sneakers, chunky Rhyton sneakers and the Gucci Tennis 1977 V sneaker all feature a teddy bear patch, print or GG Supreme canvas with teddy bear print. The range is augmented by a silk twill ribbon and 90 x 90 cm carré, both decorated with the GG pattern with an all-over teddy bear print and a yellow frame, and two hats. A baseball cap and bucket hat are both presented in patterned GG Supreme canvas, with a single teddy bear on the cap and multiple ones on the hat. Finally a 70 x 70 cm cotton bandana features a large teddy bear combined with the Gucci vintage logo.

Special packaging – with dedicated labels and swing tickets featuring the KAI x Gucci Collection teddy bear – has been developed for these ready-to-wear pieces, which will be available in Harbour City starting from April 18^th .
